Free Course Contents:
1. An overview of the basics of making cupcakes - mini, standard and giant. How to head off disasters, avoid hiccups and give your decoration a good start.
2. An introduction to various techniques available, including making decorations from sugar paste and flower paste. Stencilling, Embossing and Layering fondant.
3. The world of icing - buttercream, ganache, fondant, royal icing, flower paste, modelling paste. Ready icings and homemade.
4. Making sugar flowers - a taster: wired vs non wired, using colour, using dusts, correctly using metallic dusts and glitter to meet recognised health and safety standards.
5. An introduction to packaging: cupcake cases and boxes, inserts, plastic vs cardboard and recyclable materials including accessing non-artificial ribbon. Wrappers. Giant and mini and many in between.
All courses will include reference to health and safety and the utmost important of good hygiene in baking.
COURSE 1. Getting the best Cupcake Basics - mini, standard and giant.An overview of cases, bake-in vs decorative only cases as well as using pre-cut and custom made wrappers. Some tips on how to head off disasters, avoid hiccups and give your decoration a good start. You will learn how to set up sleek and perfectly finished foundations in buttercream with a palette knife and different icing nozzles ready to add decorations. And how to get the basic fondant icing smooth and bubble free for a neat, flat topped cupcake.
